NASA scientists discover evidence of parallel universe

NASA scientists have reportedly discovered evidence of a parallel universe (where the rules of the standard model of physics do not apply) while carrying out an experiment in Antarctica.

The researchers used NASA’s Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA) – a radio detector that is mounted on a balloon, that can identify cosmic-ray air showers in the cold dry air above Antarctica, where there is little or no radio noise to distort its findings, according to a report by the Daily Star.

ANITA, during flights in 2006 and 2014, identified a fountain of high-energy particles emitting from the ice that resembles an ‘upside-down cosmic-ray shower’. This discovery was earlier dismissed as background noises, suggests a report by But, an investigation in 2016 revealed that it was a phenomenon resembling an upside-down cosmic-ray shower.

Experts now believe these particles may actually be moving backwards in time that indicates there is a ‘parallel universe’ just close to ours. But in this universe, the standard rules and laws of physics operate in reverse.

“What we saw is something that looked just like a cosmic ray, as seen in the reflection of the ice sheet, but it wasn’t reflected. It was as if the cosmic ray had come out of the ice itself,”

“A very strange thing. So we published a paper on that, we just suggested that this was in pretty strong tension with the standard model of physics,” noted Peter Gorham, a physics professor of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa who led this puzzling discovery with a team of researchers.

“Not everyone was comfortable with the hypothesis,” Gorham admitted. 

“The discoveries suggest that signals came from upward-moving particles that tunnelled through the earth before erupting from the ice. But cosmic rays are not predicted to do that in large numbers. One possibility is that cosmic rays from a bright supernova blasted all the way through the earth,”
