‘View’ Helps Dem Spread Dangerous Rumor Republicans Coordinated Capitol Attack

United States Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA)  appeared on The View Wednesday to blame Republicans for giving her COVID but also promote even more dangerous conspiracy theories that the Capitol Hill attack was an inside job “coordinated and executed” by Republicans.

In fact, The View co-hosts not only didn’t push back on any of Jayapal’s unproven allegations about who gave her the virus, or the toxic, unproven rumor her GOP colleagues were involved in a violent insurrection. Co-host Sara Haines was the one to actually bring up this dangerous allegation:

It’s been suggested that some GOP members of Congress, your own colleagues, may have helped coordinate the attack on the Capitol last week from the inside. Even leading reconnaissance tours around the building the day before the riot. What’s your reaction to that allegation, and if true, what can be done about it?

Jayapal fretted that there was no trust in Congress anymore, saying she watched a video where a rioter claimed he had help from Congress. She argued Republicans were involved because the attack was “extremely well planned:”

…I have been watching everything, obviously, and saw the video of one of the rioters, the organizers of the riots and insurrections saying that he coordinated this with three members of Congress.

There’s no trust that we don’t have people within our own membership of Congress, that are not passing this information on, helping to, you know, part of helping to plan and coordinate and execute that attack. I will say that these insurrectionists were extremely well planned. There were four bombs if you might remember that were planted on Capitol grounds. One at the RNC, one at the DNC, in order to divert the attention from that exact moment that the insurrectionists breached the Capitol. I think those people should be removed. There is a clause in the 14th Amendment that allows for anyone who plans, who is part of an insurrection to be removed from Congress. Obviously we need an investigation to make sure we have all the facts, but it is one of the most troubling things, is that there were people, I believe, at least it looks like, within the ranks of the members of the Congress that were part of executing and planning this insurrection.

Oddly enough, in the question right after this, Joy Behar asked the Democrat if she thought Republicans would be on board with impeachment. Jayapal admitted that she thought some Republicans like Mitch McConnell were on board with impeachment after being horrified by the violence at the Capitol:

I’ve seen how Mitch McConnell’s tenor has changed as more of the footage comes out about law enforcement being attacked, about the nature of these insurrectionists, everything that happened. So I do think there are more and more senators considering voting to convict, and then hopefully a vote with a simple majority to disallow the president from running for any office ever again.

SARA HAINES: It’s been suggested that some GOP members of Congress, your own colleagues, may have helped coordinate the attack on the Capitol last week from the inside. Even leading reconnaissance tours around the building the day before the riot. What’s your reaction to that allegation, and if true, what can be done about it?

REP. JAYAPAL: It is one of the most terrifying things that we are dealing with. I saw those videos. I have been watching everything, obviously, and saw the video of one of the rioters, the organizers of the riots and insurrections saying that he coordinated this with three members of Congress. And I think this is one of the most serious things that is happening. There’s no trust within the chamber, within our colleagues, even as we get security briefings. Obviously we need an investigation to make sure we have all the facts, but it is one of the most troubling things, is that there were people, I believe, at least it looks like, within the ranks of the members of the Congress that were part of executing and planning this insurrection.
